French Bread Pizza
This is a great example of a 30-minute meal, it only took me 25 minutes from start to finish.
French bread pizza is a good way to give everyone in the family what they want. You can pick and choose what toppings to put on everyone’s side.
Sweet mini twin loafs of bread (these are found at Schnuck’s and the best taste for this recipe, however you can use regular French bread)
1 jar pasta sauce (I used Taste of the Hill) do not use pizza sauce
1 green pepper
4 slices salami
1 bag mozzarella cheese
1 C provel cheese (rope cheese)
Italian Sprinkle (see previous kitchen tip)
1 tsp sugar
Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees. Pour the jar of pasta sauce in a dish and add 1 T Italian Sprinkle, sugar, and I added red pepper flakes and a little oregano. Cut your loaves in half-length wise. Spread 1/4 of the sauce on each side of the bread. French bread should be covered a little heavier in sauce then if you were using regular pizza crust, because the bread soaks up the sauce. Mix in a bowl, both cheeses then add 1/4 of the cheese to each side. Top with your veggies and meat as desired. Bake for 15-20 minutes or just until the cheese is golden brown on top.
